Isao Tomita (1932 – 2016)

Isao Tomita, a composer and a pioneer of synthesizer music, passed away by chronic heart failure on May 8, 2016. He was 84 years old. He is highly acclaimed for his innovative album, “Clair de Lune”, which won top classical chart of Billboard in 1974, and nominated to Grammy Awards in 4 categories. His music exerted a strong influence on the Techno music typically known with Yellow Magic Orchestra. Tomita also wrote signature tunes for a host of Japanese movies and TV programs. ...

Korg Refurnishes G-ROKS Shimotakaido, Tokyo

Music studio “G-Roks Shimotakaido”, managed by Korg, reopened on April 8, 2016 after 10 years of operation. This facility was originally used as a headquarters of Korg. In 2006, it was remodeled into a music studio for professionals and high-end amateurs. Takemoto Piano Annex Completes

Takemoto Piano, well known as the largest used piano seller in Japan, opened Takemoto Piano Annex near their head office in Sakai City, Osaka on April 21.
