Kawai Musical Instruments Mfg. Co., Ltd. (President: Mr. Hirotaka Kawai) opened its direct-operated core store, called KAWAI HAMAMATSU, on the south side of Hamamatsu station on March 18, 2017. This show room is located close to the company’s headquarters and, two minutes from Hamamatsu Station.

The show room display centers around their finest grand piano model, the SHIGERU KAWAI, in an elegant calm space an additional music salon for the dissemination of music culture in the Hamamatsu region. Also, the sound-proof room NASAL is equipped for trial playing of the SHIGERU KAWAI piano.


The music salon BRILLER accommodates an audience of 70 for in-store concerts. The store displays a variety of piano sheet music, music books and publications, etc.

The city of Hamamatsu spreads music culture from Japan to the world, joining the music field of the UNESCO Creative City Network in December of 2014. Kawai Musical Instruments Mfg. Co., Ltd. is also promoting music culture through this KAWAI HAMAMATSU store.

Celebratory opening events and seminars, including a concert on the Shigeru Kawai, pedal clinics by pianist Kazuma Matsumoto, and a piano clinic by Mika Goto, have been planned through July.
