Japan Musical Instruments Association to be Re-organized
Japan Musical Instruments Association with Takuya Nakata as its president staged 2016 first directors’ meeting on February 5 at Arcadia Ichigaya, Tokyo, and announced it would re-organize the association to be a general incorporated association in April to provide the members with renewed benefits as;
1. Advanced services for their successful business,
2. Enhanced promotion of music making for the market and end user, and

Yamano Music Opens 1st Shop in Nishinomiya
Tokyo-based Yamano Music opened 1st retail shop in Nishinomiya area at Nishinomiya Gardens, one of the largest shopping complexes just connected to Hankyu Nishinomiya Railway Station on February 12. It’s a full line store having keyboards, wind instruments, acoustic guitars, printed music and music teaching studios on 287 sq. meter space. Sales for Music Streaming Rose in 2015
Japan Record Trading Association recently announced that sales of music streaming in 2015 were 47.1 billion yen, an 8% increase, which represents growth in 2 consecutive years.
While overall sales for music downloading slightly declined, it was offset by album streaming for PC and smartphone, and subscription streaming with an 11% increase to 9.229 billion yen, and a 58% increase to 12.393 billion yen, respectively.
