Klimt Models from Bösendorfer

Founded in 1828, Bösendorfer Klavierfabrik GmbH, Wien, has established itself as a maker of high quality pianos hand-built by seasoned craftsmen in centuries-old style. The company has manufactured 50,000 pianos to this day with current annual production of 300 units. The Bösendorfer pianos attract artists and music fans throughout the world for their rich expression and distinctive sound widely appraised as Vienner Tone.

The 2 new grand pianos come with a replicated painting of “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer” by acclaimed Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt, on the rear lid. Klimt is highly regarded for paintings using gold leaves. It’s said he experimented myriad of ways before completing secret technique putting gold and silver leaves on his oil paintings. (Yuumi Yamaguchi played Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” and other works on 214VC.)

Yamaha Music Japan, parent company of Bösendorfer, showcased Klimt Models 200 (¥18,000,000  retail) and 214VC (¥19,000,000 retail) on June 23 at Bösendorfer Japan Showroom, Nakano-sakauye, Tokyo. Yamaha plans to distribute 25 units of the Klimt pianos in the world market.

Yamaha presented Klimt Models as well as full line of Bösendorfer pianos from June 26 through July 23 at Yamaha Ginza Store where discerning pianists were invited to experience extraordinary sound and touch of the legendary pianos.

The company also presented Klimt Models at Mitsukoshi Department Store, Nihonbashi, Tokyo, as part of its extensive sales promotion of premium pianos.
